NYC - Dumbo & Brooklyn Bridge Park

Waking up to a sunny and bright Brooklyn, we had a few plans in mind for the day ahead including seeing the sunset at Top Of The Rock, there will be more on that along with photos in the next NYC post.

Petite Style with The Little Magpie

In today's post I’m back shooting with my gorgeous friend Amy from ‘The Little Magpie’. I can’t wait to share with you the photos we’ve worked on together with The Dorchester. I always go to Amy’s blog when I’m looking for new style inspiration. As a fellow member of the 5ft high club I know that I can trust Amy’s style choices when wanting to branch out and try something that’s out of my comfort zone. I love the way she pairs pieces of an outfit together. I’m totally having an obsession with smaller handbags at the moment. They're certainly not practical seeing as I have a camera surgically attached to my hands 24/7 but I just LOVE them!

NYC - Tompkins Sq Park & Smorgasburg

Upon booking our accommodation for NYC we considered lots of different areas, as it was Ollie's first visit we thought it would be great to stay in Manhattan but of course we couldn't not visit Brooklyn too which worked out perfectly for our anniversary stay at Aloft Brooklyn. Our Airbnb in Manhattan was right by 'Tompkins Square Park' which I could imagine now at the start of summer is a very different picture, to when we were there in April. We both still fell in love with it however. An area just for dogs and their owners to socialise was a nice touch and a there was a glimpse of the magnificent Empire State in the distance too. East Village was such a cool place to call home for the week and we really fell in love with the area and can't wait to explore more of it and what it has to offer on our next visit.

After walking around Tompkins Square Park we headed over to Williamsburg, Brooklyn to Smorgasburg. My sister and her husband said we should check it out and I'm so glad we did! A weekend food market, based in two locations across Brooklyn and home to some of the finest food stalls I've ever laid eyes on! I'd seen 'Dough' pop up on my instagram feed countless times, so knew immediately no matter how full we were, we'd be walking away with doughnuts in tow. Ollie opted for a Philly Cheese-steak and I had a wood fired oven pizza. Both were insanely mouthwatering and as I write this, the thought has given me serious food envy! The view from the location was pretty amazing too, overlooking the whole of midtown Manhattan. Granted it would have been even nicer on a sunnier day, but after all even in the rain we'd both still fallen head over heels for New York!
We also stopped by 'Artists and Fleas' market before making our way to Aloft Brooklyn

The Little Magpie - Meli Melo

Back shooting with a favourite girlie of mine, Amy from 'The Little Magpie'. We got a chance to fit in some time for a shoot when we recently stayed at 'The Dorchester' together. More on this very soon as we both have some posts to share from that very exciting and surreal experience!

NYC - Times Square & Radio City

Emerging from the subway to the bright neon lights of Time Square! What to look at first? The iconic Coca-Cola ad, the Disney store playing clips from films, fashion brands' adverts and film advertisements as far as the eye could see! It may be NYC’s biggest tourist hotspot and in the London equivalent if I happen to drop by Piccadilly Circus I’m in and out, get where I need to go and get out of the massive crowds. But seeing as Ollie and I were tourists, it was nice to revel in a place so iconic and familiar and watch the world go by.

Let's talk festival style... It is June after all, how on earth did that happen! Feels like yesterday was February. This year is speeding by at an alarming rate!
