Megan - Summer Ready!

Are you feeling Summer ready? I for one am yet to brave the bare legs.
As part of this months Take 10; Megan tested out the new Braun Silk-épil 9 Epilator. Megan had to take a mini-skirt for a spin when her legs looked this good. Roll on the summer days and endless evenings.

Torre De Belem

On our trip to Lisbon, we made sure that we visited Torre De Belem. A few clouds still didn't stop you from appreciating the beauty of this historic landmark. We had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon wandering around the Tower and discovering the story behind the Tower and why it was built. Using a Lisboa card we were able to travel from place to place for the whole weekend, covering entry to a few must sees too- definitely recommend if you ever take a visit to Lisbon.

Sixties Lovin!

Strutting around Covent Garden's theatre district in a sixties style get up Olivia is looking drop dead gorgeous! Dreaming of The Kinks walking by or ... ahem Alex Turner! We managed to shoot these in the glorious sunshine. I am crossing my fingers for the spring weather to stay. London you're so beautiful in the sunshine! I love how Olivia's styled this sixties inspired look; just look at those SHOES! We headed to Laduree for a proper chin wag and sweet treats.

Pateis De Belem

Where to begin, just looking back at these photos has got me reminiscing about these delicious delicacies. Someone please arrive at my front door with a box of them..... right now!!! Pasteis de Belem also called Pasteis de nata are a Portuguese egg custard tart. Belem is the area of Lisbon where these little tarts were first created all the way back in 1837; there's definitely a reason they're world famous.

Conveyor belts of these pastries among many others are made and served daily on the historic site.
The pasteis themselves are served warm and fresh from the oven, with icing sugar and/or cinnamon to dust on top. I'd recommend both and lots of them, it only adds to the experience. They're creamy and sweet but not sickly, they're just the right amount of sweet and the cinnamon offsets this perfectly. We're lucky we were only visiting Lisbon for a few days as I would have taken up residency here and just ate and ate and ate. This place will definitely be on my reasons to come back to Lisbon in the future. Even though its a busy tourist hotspot, I would really recommend making the trip, as they were by far the best 'Pasteis de Belem' we ate during our trip and the whole experience felt authentic and genuine, which Emily and I really enjoyed.

If you are planning a trip to Lisbon make sure you put this place on your to visit/do/see list.

Sunny Lisbon

With the weather brightening up here in London, I thought I'd share with you some photos from a recent trip to Lisbon with the gorgeous Emily. We were greeted with sunny blue skies, and we ditched our coats as soon as we stepped off the plane! After finding our apartment, we decided to explore the local area; cobbled streets and patterned tiles galore we wandered the streets in search of delicious pastries! Have you visited Lisbon before? Or are you planning a trip? I have a few more posts to come with some of our adventures from our trip, so keep an eye out. Hope your week's going well!
